You often hear about how terrible artificial grass is for our planet. It’s been sent by the Devil himself to ruin our planet… But what if it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be? How bad is artificial grass for the environment? What if the real impact is nowhere near the scale made out by the media?
You may be surprised, but it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be. Don’t get us wrong, we aren’t claiming artificial grass amazing for the environment at all, it’s not going to kill our planet. You can have a lovely garden all year round without being judged. Especially if you read and remember this post. Anytime someone questions your decision for artificial grass, send them this post.Â
How bad is artificial grass
There is no arguing artificial grass isn’t the best product for the environment. We aren’t saying that…
There are things we all do that if we cut them out would make a huge impact on the climate, unlike removing a small amount of grass and replacing it with artificial grass. Here are some worse things; Flying, driving, public transport, buying avocados (and other exotic food products).
So no, artificial grass won’t help your carbon footprint, but compared to things you do every day, it won’t have much of an impact at all. There are even some environmental benefits to artificial grass such as less wasting of water, especially in summer months.
Artificial grass is no worse than getting a patio or installing a shed, they both remove the natural turf. So why not at least keep some greenery and realism in your garden?
Conclusion – See, artificial grass isn’t that bad, the numbers don’t lie!
You can see from those above that artificial grass isn’t as bad as it is made to be… So if your neighbour, family or friend are considering (or already have) artificial grass, there is no need to be rude or send abuse to them.
Additionally, a lot of installations we do are to help people or the elderly who are struggling with their current garden. The last thing they need is abuse about something they are doing (or have done).
