Our wealth of experience and knowledge with installing artificial grass means we can rectify a wealth of issues. See below for a list of potential issues we can help to repair for you. Weather its our install or another installer.
Burns – Burned your artificial grass? Sadly there is only one way to rectify this, and that is by replacing the grass. You can go for the cheaper option of piecing in grass by just replacing the burned area. Or you may want to replace the whole grass. The former option will be more noticeable, but considerably cheaper.Â
Rips & Tears – A rip or tear in the grass means the same as a burn… Replace the grass. You can piece in a small bit of grass, which is the cheaper option, however, it is more noticeable. Replacing the whole piece of grass is the better looking option, but it’s not cheap.
Flood damage – Maybe a natural flood, or an emptied pool. Either way, excess water can cause issues when it comes to your base works, and they may need a top up and to be re whacked. In-addition, if your area is prone to flooding, we can add land drains in the area to help combat the problem.
General Ware – As much as artificial grass lasts a long time, it can ware especially if you have children playing in the same place all the time, or a pet using the same spot for the toilet.Â
Animals – Animals like to ruin artificial grass, maybe you have a dog that overtime has ripped out fibres, or had moles dig through the grass, or fox urine has created a disgusting smell in your garden. We can help with all of the above.
Bad Installations – We have seen our fair share of bad installation. All of which we have been able to rectify, and give the customer their dream garden. We always recommend you spend the extra to go with a reputable companies. Always check the rating of the company, for instance we have over 300 5* reviews.
Base works – For a multitude of reasons, your base works may need a rework. A heavy object that’s now left your garden with a dip, general land movement, or something else. For whatever reason you may need it, we can reup your base works, bringing a new even level back to your garden.
Moss and Algae Problems – We can help to restore your garden to its former glory if you’re struggling with moss and or algae. We would do this via a maintenance package. When you enquire ensure to mention this issue, as we need you to spray the area with a specialist product beforehand.
Lifting of Grass –Â You may need to have your grass lifted for power cables (or something else). When lifting and rescuing the grass along with ensuring the base works are still intact. It’s best to get the professionals in to ensure it’s done correctly.
Mown Artificial Grass – You’d be surprised the amount of times we have had a call from someone stating their artificial grass hass been mown. Obviously, it won’t grow back so the grass must be replaced. In some cases, we may be able to piece in grass to the mown area which is a cheaper option.
There are some things that you can do to help prevent some of the issues mentioned above from occurring and save you the hassle of getting your grass repaired.
Burns: Although artificial grass itself isn’t a fire hazard, because the plastic fibres are very fine, intense heat will melt the grass fibres leaving the grass looking unsightly. Make sure that you don’t have any mirrors near the area as the heat from reflections can melt the grass. The heat from BBQs will melt grass if near it. Also make sure to not set off fireworks on the grass as the sparks may melt the artificial grass.
Rips & Tears: Ensuring that no sharp footwear like high heels are can prevent rips/tears. The artificial grass should be used for the appropriate purpose, for example playing an intense sport on a soft landscaping grass will likely result in tears in the grass. If the artificial grass area is next to real grass, it can be a good idea to make sure there is a break/boundary between to prevent a lawnmower catching the edge of the artificial grass in place.Â
Moss & Algae: Moss and algae that grows in artificial grass is often due to lack of maintenance and usually damp, dark, shaded conditions. Keeping on top of maintenance should prevent any moss taking to your artificial grass. Lack of maintenance can often result in a full replacement down the line.Â
Flooding: If it’s a natural flood, there is nothing you can do to prevent the damage. However if you have a paddling pool (or similar), ensuring you empty it using a pump off the artificial grass, your base works should be safe from being ruined by the water. Having a heavy pool may also sink the base works. If you are able to, place the pool elsewhere.
